On your Tuscany Wine Day Tour you will visit the ancient town of San Gimignano, famous for its history and architecture, but also for being the home of one of Italy’s best wines. After visiting San Gimignano you will move on to experience one of the most exciting moments of the day: a visit to Maestro Andrea Bocelli’s hometown, Lajatico. Here, guided by members of the Bocelli family, you will taste their wines, walk through their vineyards and learn more about the life of the world’s most famous Italian tenor.
Your Tuscany Wine Day Tour begins when a private English-speaking driver comes to collect you from your custom accommodation in Tuscany and take you to the first stop on this experience.
In less than an hour, you will arrive in Lajatico, the hometown of Maestro Andrea Bocelli. If in San Gimignano your gaze was directed upward looking for the tallest tower, in Lajatico you will be able to enjoy the view of the rolling Tuscan hills, where the Bocelli Farmhouse is located. Another wine lesson awaits you: in fact, you will stroll through the Bocelli Family vineyards where you can discover the history of their wine production and the flavor of Sangiovese wine.
Members of the Bocelli family will then welcome you to the Officine Bocelli Restaurant where you will have the opportunity to participate in a delightful wine tasting. They will share with you the family's history and their on-site production which includes, in addition to wine, also honey, oil, and organic cosmetics.
After the tasting, you will have the chance to admire the lifetime achievements of Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli through the photos, awards and stage costumes that you will find at the Bocelli Museum, located on the first floor of Officine Bocelli.
The several glasses of wine will surely make you hungry, so before your private driver takes you back to your accommodation in Tuscany, you will be served a scrumptious three-course Tuscan meal, including a pasta dish, a meat course, dessert and, of course, Italian coffee.
Crossing the Tuscan countryside, where the green shades of the hills caress the blue of the sky, you will reach San Gimignano, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its medieval architecture, characterized by the presence of 14 towers, an ancient symbol of wealth and power. Here you will taste a world-famous white Vernaccia before your private driver takes you back to your accommodation in Tuscany.
